NEET UG 2024: Which students will appear for NEET exam again on June 23, understand the whole matter here

Supreme Court on NEET 2024: The Supreme Court has given a big decision today while hearing the petition to cancel the NEET UG exam. The court has rejected the demand to cancel the exam and has also said that the paper will be conducted again only for some students. These are the students who were given grace marks in the name of compensation for ‘loss of time’. In this way, the exam will be conducted again for a total of 1563 candidates and not for all the students.

Exam will be held on this date

NEET UG 2024 exam will be conducted again on 23 June. On this day, the exam will be conducted only for those 1563 students who have been given grace marks. Thus it has also become clear that the court has rejected the students’ demand to cancel the exam. The court has said to conduct the exam again only for these students.

Let us tell you that NTA had also said in its clarification earlier that this is not the case of 24 lakh children (all of whom have given NEET UG exam this year) but only of 1500 students. Thus, the court’s reply on the allegations of other irregularities in the NEET exam is yet to come. At present, these 1500 students will have to give the NEET exam again.

Results should be declared by this date

The Supreme Court has also said that the results of the candidates for whom re-examination is conducted, i.e. 1563 candidates, should be declared by June 30. The committee has decided that the results of those candidates who were given grace marks due to lack of time should be cancelled. These students will have to appear for the NEET exam again.

Those who do not wish to appear for the exam again

The Supreme Court also said in the hearing that those candidates who do not wish to appear for the exam again can accept their same score but their grace marks will be removed. The marks left after removing the grace marks will be considered as the final number. In such a situation, they can choose not to appear for the exam again.

Also know that no candidate can appear for the re-examination, only those candidates can appear who had received grace marks.

Counselling will not be stopped

Also know that in one of the petitions filed today, it was said to stop counselling. On this, the Supreme Court has clarified that counselling will not be stopped and if the exam goes ahead as per its scheduled time, many candidates will suffer loss due to not getting the counselling process done.
