Education System In Israel: Israel – This country is in the news after the war with Hamas. If we talk about various aspects here, the name of education system also comes up. The education system here is quite good and advanced compared to other countries. The methods of study here are as per today’s times and instead of focusing only on bookish knowledge, a lot of emphasis is given on practical training. Along with this, military training is also given to the youth from an early age.
How is the education system
Israel’s national education system is mainly divided into five levels. Pre-primary, primary, secondary, post secondary and higher education. Primary education is from Grade 1 to 6, Lower Secondary Education is from Grade 7 to 9 and Upper Secondary Education is from Grade 10 to 12. Here education from Kindergarten to 10th is compulsory i.e. everyone has to go to school.
School year starts in this month
Here the school year starts on 1st September and if it is a Saturday then it starts on 2nd September. Here the week starts from Sunday. Schools for children end on 30th June. There are four types of schools here – State School, State School (Religious), Arab, Druze School, Private School and Novel School.
The Israeli matriculation exam is called Bragut and one can join the military only after passing it at least. Elementary education is available here for free.
Military training is necessary
Military training is necessary for the youth here. After the age of 18 years, they can join the military and those who do not want to join it also have to learn about it for a few days. In the education system here, 24 months i.e. two years of military training is required for women and 36 months i.e. 3 years of military training for men. They join the Israel Defense Force.
