Students can be banned on the basis of post exam analysis, NTA warns JEE Mains candidates

National Testing Agency (NTA) has advised students appearing for JEE Main exam. NTA has warned the students that they should not try to cheat or cheat in the exam at all. If a candidate gets away by cheating or by giving the paper in a wrong way, then he can be caught later also. Candidates may be caught at the time of post exam data analysis. JEE Main Session-2 exams have started from today. The agency has said that it will also analyze the post exam video data to detect any kind of fraud. Apart from this, the logs of attempting questions will also be checked.

If media reports are to be believed, AI can also be used for remote biometric matching of candidates. JEE Main exam is being conducted in computer based mode. At the same time, a total of 12.57 lakh candidates have registered for the second session. Of these, 75 percent candidates have appeared in the January session.

What did the Director General say

National Testing Agency Director General Subodh Kumar Singh says that many efforts are being made to curb cheating and ensure fairness. He said that even if a candidate goes to the washroom during the examination, he will have to go through biometric verification and other procedures. If the candidate is caught in any wrong activity during the examination, his/her candidature may be cancelled.

What are exams for?

JEE Mains exam is conducted twice a year. This exam is conducted in two sessions. There are two papers in it. The first paper i.e. Paper-1 is for admission to BE/B.Tech. Paper-1 is for admission to Under Graduate Engineering courses (BE/B.Tech) in NITs, IIITs, CFTIs and other participating state governments funded/recognized institutions/universities. This exam is also an eligibility test for JEE Advanced. Through which one gets admission in IIT. Paper-2 is conducted for admission to B.Arch and B. Planning courses.
