It was not easy for this TV actor to do the scene of Sita Haran, this is how Thangabali of Chennai Express prepared to become Ravana.

Sony Entertainment Television’s iconic saga, ‘Shrimad Ramayan’ has captured the hearts of the audiences with the immortal tale of the life and teachings of Lord Rama. Till now the audience has seen how the demon king Ravana kidnaps Mother Sita and in an attempt to rescue and protect her, Jatayu fights Ravana. On the other hand, Lord Rama and his brother Lakshmana start searching for Mother Sita and find her jewelery on the way, which helps them determine in which direction Sita might have gone. Then they realize that they have been kidnapped.

The abduction of Mother Sita, popularly known as ‘Sita-Haran’, unfolded amidst confusing circumstances, where Ravana cunningly reached the forest where Lord Rama, Mother Sita and Lakshman resided during their exile. Taking unfair advantage of Sita’s compassion and hospitality, Ravana engages her in conversation, and induces her to cross the limits drawn by Lakshmana for giving alms. Nikitin Dheer, who played the role of the powerful demon Ravana, assumed the form of a sage, which required him to display a calm demeanor.

Elaborating on the track and his role, Nikitin Dheer says, “As an actor I find myself drawn towards the complexity and depth of Ravana’s personality. When I had to don the guise of a sage, Which is completely opposite to Ravana, so some preparation had to be done for this. From reducing the aggression to adopting a polite form to please Mother Sita, before coming in this form, I had to keep my mind calm and change my tone of voice. Tried to flesh out the character. My character aims to not only captivate the audience but also invite them on a journey of introspection, exploring morality, destiny and the eternal battle between good and evil. , which is within all of us.”
