Many people come to Mumbai with the dream of becoming an actor but only a few of them are able to make their mark and become a star. An actor who, while fulfilling his passion for acting, worked with Ayushmann Khurrana and Priyanka Chopra and now sells fruits to meet his expenses.

The actor we are talking about has done many side roles in popular hit films. However, during the lockdown, his financial condition became so bad that he had to start selling fruits. This is none other than Solanki Diwakar. Solanki Diwakar revealed in an interview with Zee News that he got interested in acting when he used to sell papad during breaks in theatres. He said that now selling fruits is his compulsion because he does not get much work in Bollywood. He said, “If I had earned enough money by working in films, I would not have been selling fruits today. If I had got regular work throughout the year and money to feed my family, I would have continued doing the same work. If I get a chance, So I would like to work in 1000 films. But it is my misfortune that I do not get work again and again. So it is my compulsion that I have to sell fruits because I have no other option.”

Solanki Diwakar has worked in films like ‘Dream Girl’ which also stars Ayushmann Khurrana, ‘The White Tiger’ which also stars Priyanka Chopra, and ‘Sonchiriya’ which stars Sushant Singh Rajput. He made his debut in the 2014 film ‘Titli’ in which he played the role of a wedding card seller. He has also worked in web series like Abhishek Bachchan’s ‘Breathe: Into the Shadows’ and played the role of a security guard in Tandav. Recently he was also seen in Shahid Kapoor’s hit film Bloody Daddy.

Solanki Diwakar is a fruit seller by profession and has been doing this work in Delhi for 10 years. Sometimes he also gets small roles in films. Speaking to ANI, he said, “As the lockdown increases, I have to take care of my needs. I have to pay my rent and also need money to meet my family’s expenses. So I have started selling fruits again. If not the virus, hunger will definitely kill me and my two sons.”
