Parveen Babi cried after being replaced by Jaya Bachchan in this Amitabh Bachchan film

Amitabh Bachchan and Parveen Babi are one of the superhit couples of the decade, whose first film was Majboor. After this they worked together in films like Deewaar, Amar Akbar Anthony, Do Aur Do Paanch, Shaan and Kaliya. Due to this, fans also got love for this onscreen couple. But one more name could have been added to the list of these movies, whose part Parveen Babi could not become. He even felt sad about it. This has been revealed by actor Ranjeet.

Actually, in an interview given to ANI, actor Ranjeet has revealed that Parveen Bobby was first selected along with Rekha and Amitabh Bachchan in the 1981 film ‘Silsila’, but later Jaya Bachchan was replaced in her place. Actually, while talking about his relationship with Parveen Babi, Ranjeet said that she was upset for not being a part of the popular film.

He said, “Parveen Babi was my dear friend… She was all alone. She was a beautiful woman. Always smiling and we used to call her ‘Shovel’ because of her teeth… Once she was very upset and She was crying. I asked her ‘What happened Parveen’. We were in Kashmir and this is a fact, which I have no objection in telling. A film was made called Silsila and Parveen Babi was the first choice. But she was asked to leave. Gaya. Due to a drama controversy, he cast Rekha and Jaya Bhaduri in the film, otherwise it was Parveen and Rekha’s film.”

It is noteworthy that the film Silsila, released on 14 August 1981, was directed by Yash Chopra. Amitabh Bachchan, Jaya Bachchan, Rekha, Shashi Kapoor and Sanjeev Kapoor were seen in important roles in the film, which proved to be a hit at the box office.
