Isha Koppikar talks about age difference in Bollywood

Recalling her experience in the Hindi film industry, Isha said, “When you work with someone 30 or 20 years older than you, you feel uncomfortable. When I used to work with elderly heroes, I used to feel uncomfortable. You don’t feel like you are hugging your partner or lover, you feel like you are hugging your father. I used to feel like this. I was new and I thought it was a normal thing. You are an actor. You focus on your character and forget that they are old. You will not feel uncomfortable with everyone. Some of them have kept themselves very fit and maintained and they do not look according to their age but some clearly had a senior image and behavior due to age and experience in the industry.

He added, “They should understand how they look and do roles accordingly. I hope it changes because the audience is not stupid. I have seen them in theatres saying ‘Yeh kitna buddha lag raha hai, ghar par baith. Apni beti ki umar ki ladki ki sath romancing kar raha hai’. They say it with impunity which is true. Because of social media, everyone knows this.”

Talking about Isha Koppikar’s workfront, Isha made her acting debut with the Telugu film – W/o V.Var Prasad. Her first Bollywood film was Fiza starring Hrithik Roshan and Karisma Kapoor. Later she worked in films like Company, Kaante, Pinjar, LOC Kargil, Kya Kool Hain Hum, 36 China Town and Hello. The actress was recently seen in Shiv Karthikeyan-Rakul Preet Singh’s Tamil science-fiction – Ayalaan.
