Under this scheme, the government transfers Rs 6000 in three installments of Rs 2,000 each to the accounts of farmers every year. Farmers get Rs 6 thousand every year Under this scheme, three installments of Rs 2,000 each, in a year (total Rs 6000), are given to small and marginal farmers. Under the scheme, the first installment is released between April-July, the second installment between August-November and the third installment between December-March. This scheme was started in 2019 to provide financial assistance to farmers. Eligible beneficiaries of the scheme can also register themselves through the Common Service Center (CSC). Those excluded from PM Kisan include institutional land holders, farmer families holding constitutional posts, serving or retired officers and employees of the state or central government. It also includes officers and employees of public sector undertakings and government autonomous bodies. Apart from these, professionals like doctors, engineers and lawyers, along with retired pensioners having monthly pension of more than Rs 10,000 and those who have paid income tax in the previous assessment year, have also been excluded from this scheme.
