At the same time, people of Jammu and Kashmir and North-East states will be able to take a maximum of 6 SIM cards. Customer’s consent will have to be taken before sending promotional messages Under the new law, consumers will have to take their consent before sending advertisements and promotional messages for goods and services. It also states that the company providing telecom services will have to create an online mechanism so that users can register their complaints online. There are 62 sections in the new act, currently only 39 are applicable The Telecommunication Act 2023 was passed in the Lok Sabha on 20 December last year and in the Rajya Sabha on 21 December.
