AISHE 2021-22 Report Out: The report for the year 2021-22 has been released by All India Survey on Higher Education (AISHE). According to which, there has been a significant increase in the number of people enrolling for higher education in 2021-22. There were 4.14 crore enrollments for higher education in 2020-21. While there were 3.42 crore enrollments in 2014-15, it increased to 4.33 crore in 2021-22.

Under the All India Survey on Higher Education 2021-22, Uttar Pradesh has the highest number of colleges for higher education in India. According to this report, there are 8,375 colleges in Uttar Pradesh. This figure was 8,114 last year. After this there are Maharashtra and Karnataka. The top 10 states in terms of number of colleges in India are Rajasthan, Tamil Nadu, Madhya Pradesh, Andhra Pradesh, Gujarat, Telangana and West Bengal. Each of these has at least 30 or more colleges per lakh population.

According to All India Survey on Higher Education, computer engineering has been the most craze between 2021-22. At the same time, enrollment of students in computer engineering has increased by about 38 percent in the last three years. The number of people taking admission in computer engineering was 9.3 lakh in 2019-20. Which increased to 12 lakhs in 2021-22. The top-5 branches of engineering include Computer Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Civil Engineering and Electrical Engineering.

According to the report, out of 1.13 crore students enrolled in Bachelor of Arts (BA), 51 percent are female students and 49 percent are male. At the same time, the total registration in Science stream is 49.18 lakh students, out of which 50.8 percent are dominated by women and 49.2 percent are men. Talking about commerce, men are ahead with 52.8 percent and women are ahead with 47.2 percent. Whereas a total of 44.08 lakh students have enrolled in Commerce.
