NEET UG 2024: What is the whole matter of NEET scam? This is the biggest demand of the students

NEET UG Result 2024 Controversy Explained: If we look at the uproar over NEET UG, it comes to the fore that many questions have arisen to which the NTA has not given a satisfactory answer. Ultimately the issue reached the Supreme Court, the hearing started and at present the matter has been postponed till July 8. Till then further processes related to the examination will continue i.e. the counseling process will not stop. Many petitions were filed in this matter, regarding which the Supreme Court has said that there is no benefit in talking about the same question again and again. We have to wait for the answer of NTA in any case.

Response sought from NTA

The Supreme Court has sought a reply from the NTA on this issue and has asked to clear all the issues being raised by the candidates. Although the National Testing Agency has given clarifications several times before, the students are not satisfied with it. Further hearing in this matter will be held in the Supreme Court only after the reply comes from the NTA. Let’s take a look at the whole matter.

These are the issues

  • While every year there are one or maximum two toppers, this year there are 67 toppers. All of them have got perfect 720 marks.
  • Many of the NEET toppers this year are from the same centre.
  • There have been reports of paper leaks at several centres before the exam.
  • Some students say that grace marks have been given only to students of certain centres, while the paper was held late at several centres.
  • Two students who got 68 and 69 ranks have scored 718 and 719 marks. These marks are not possible according to the NEET marking scheme.

What does NTA have to say

NTA says that papers were distributed late at some centers and to compensate for the loss of time, they have given grace marks due to which some candidates have got 718 and 719 marks. NTA has termed the allegations of paper leak as completely baseless.

NTA also says that a 4-member team has been formed to investigate this matter and this matter is only of 1600 students and not of 24 lakh candidates. The rigging in the exam has now started taking a political colour and many parties have jumped into this debate. There is a demand from all sides to cancel the exam and conduct a re-examination. The biggest question is about cancelling the exam.
