Bollywood actress Sushmita Sen wore the Miss Universe crown in 1994. An iconic photoshoot was also done, which took place in front of the Taj Mahal. Designer Ritu Kumar has shared a video from old memories, in which a glimpse of Sushmita Sen can be seen. With this he wrote in the caption, Sushmita Sen Miss Universe photoshoot. Further giving details, she wrote, “In 1993, I made a deal with the Miss India team to design clothes for the contestants. In 1994, Sushmita Sen won the Miss India title in America. It was a historic moment and I was very happy to be a part of it. As part of my deal with Miss India to make clothes for the contestants, I was assigned the task of making their wardrobe as they toured America and I gave them Bandhani and Zardozi, Started sending suits made of kurta, which were liked a lot.”

Ritu Kumar told about what happened before the shoot and then how Sushmita Sen shot in pink saree and the actress fainted during the shoot. He wrote, when she reached Delhi after the tour, I got a call asking her to come to Taj Palace. Upon reaching, I came to know that the shoot would take place outside the Taj Mahal. But the clothes sent to him were shorts and T-shirts. So small that they could not be worn outside a tomb! So, at night we opened a shop and prepared a pink saree with blouse. We also got some other important things and within a few hours we were ready to shoot. The shooting was very hectic and poor Sushmita even fainted once, but the pictures were worth our hard work.
It is noteworthy that Sushmita Sen has appeared in films like Biwi No. 1, Do Not Disturb, Main Hoon Na, Maine Pyar Kyun Kiya and Tumko Na Bhool Payenge and No Problem. Whereas he made an acting comeback with the International Emmy nominated series Arya, whose third season has arrived. Apart from this, she was seen playing the role of transgender activist Shrigauri Sawant in the film Tali.
