This show has been considered the Indian version of Sherlock Holmes. Byomkesh Bakshi was directed by Basu Chatterjee. Rajit Kapoor and KK Raina were in lead roles in this serial of DD National. Rajit Kapoor played the character of Byomkesh, while Sukanya Kulkarni played the role of Byomkesh Bakshi’s wife.
