We are talking about the detective serial Byomkesh Bakshi which came on Doordarshan i.e. DD National from 1993 to 1997. This TV serial was based on the book by Sharadendu Bandyopadhyay. This show has been considered the Indian version of Sherlock Holmes. Byomkesh Bakshi was directed by Basu Chatterjee. Rajit Kapoor and KK Raina were in lead roles in this serial of DD National. Rajit Kapoor played the character of Byomkesh, while Sukanya Kulkarni played the role of Byomkesh Bakshi’s wife.

There are total 34 episodes of Byomkesh Bakshi. Interestingly, the serial was re-telecasted on March 28, 2020, when there was a 28-day lockdown due to coronavirus. This serial was also liked a lot. Then this kind of detective appeared for the first time on Karamchand’s Indian TV screen. This thing also became the specialty of this show.
