Things have not been going well between TV actress Daljeet Kaur and Nikhil Patel for some time now. While the actress recently hinted at divorce to her fans through social media, now for the first time her Kenyan businessman husband Nikhil Patel has given his reaction to the allegations of extramarital affair and divorce news. In an interview to ETimes, Nikhil said, “In January this year, Daljeet decided to leave Kenya with son Jaden and return to India, which became the reason for our separation. We separated in January. We both realized that the foundation of our family was not as strong as we had hoped, which made it difficult for Daljeet to settle in Kenya.”
He further added, “In March 2023, we had an Indian wedding in Mumbai. Although it had cultural significance, it was not legally binding. It was intended to reassure Daljeet’s family about moving to Kenya. Despite our efforts, Daljeet found it challenging to adjust to life in Kenya, missing her career and life in India. The complexities of our family dynamics became increasingly apparent. This proved challenging for us due to cultural clashes, differing values and beliefs, and was something that began to evolve as the relationship matured. My daughters have a mother who is irreplaceable, regardless of the status of their relationship.”
Nikhil further said, Daljeet informed me about my son’s school and other things before leaving Kenya that she had no intention of returning except to pick up her belongings. I stored her belongings and her leaving was the end of the relationship for me and despite her worrying activity on social media over the last five months, I have found resolution and solace, and I am moving forward positively. However, Daljeet’s recent beliefs and impulsive posts on social media have caused confusion and distress to those around me. She has expressed a desire to get back into my life and has crossed the boundaries. Her posts have been misinterpreted, resulting in unnecessary distress to family and friends not involved in the situation. I hope she stops doing this. I have always believed in resolving misunderstandings with respect and clarity. It is important to keep your side clear, not just for me but for everyone who is involved. I wish Daljeet all the best and I hope she moves forward in life in a positive manner.
