As Darr completes 30 years today, Juhi Chawla, who became the biggest national crush as Kiran in the film, remembers Darr as one of the most important films she has done in her career so far! Juhi says, “Dar is one of the main films of my career. One of the most important films I have done. Before Darr, I had worked with Yash Chopra ji in Chandni and it was just a small part. At that time I was completely new but still they cast me opposite Vinod Khanna ji and I had a small guest role. That was the first time I faced the camera and Yash ji was directing me, which was only two and a half days’ work.
Juhi Chawla further says, “After this I worked in Pam Chopra ji’s production, which was YRF’s film – Aina and I have said this earlier also, Aina was the first for which I was called to Honey ji’s house, who invited me to Sat down and read the entire script with me. The second time I heard a script again, Yash ji made me sit in the mattress room of his house. I was just amazed because I was an emerging artist who was still finding her feet and here was a great director whose films I had seen in my childhood, and then when I became an actress, I was sitting in front of him. “
She adds, “Also, at that time, it was very rare for directors or producers to write their complete scripts before going on the shoot. However, with Yash ji, whatever films I did, be it Aaina or Darr, he narrated the entire script to me! It was amazing. I have wonderful memories of working with Yash ji. I was very young at that time and was very influenced by Yash ji. Becoming Yash Chopra ji’s heroine and being directed by him was a big moment for me. I have grown up watching Silsila and some other films, but I never thought that I would be in front of the camera and the great Yash Chopra would direct me.
Juhi says she was thrilled to hear that Shahrukh Khan will play the role of an anti-hero in Darr. She explains, “When I heard that Yash ji was going to cast Aamir in the role that Shahrukh had done, I was very happy, because you know I have worked with Aamir in our early films And I am very comfortable with them. Then I heard that Aamir was not doing it, then I thought it went to Ajay Devgan and some other young heroes. But he didn’t do that, after all it was Shahrukh. But I can’t tell you how special it was.
Juhi adds, “At that time, I was a wide-eyed young girl going through life and going through the whole experience… I had no idea what I was actually doing or where I was going. Was.
