Gurcharan Singh, who became famous by playing the character of Roshan Singh Sodhi in the popular TV show ‘Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah’, has reportedly gone missing. The 50-year-old actor left home for Delhi airport on April 22 to go to Mumbai, but since then there has been no trace of him. Apart from this, his phone also cannot be traced. This incident is not the first time that an artist of the show has faced trouble or attracted media attention. Earlier, actress Monica Bhadauria, who played the role of Bawri in the show, had complained about the bad behavior of the show makers.
Monica Bhadauria’s allegation
Monica had accused the show’s producer Asit Modi of not paying dues and mental harassment. Bhadauria said that she was tortured by the producer to such an extent that she started having suicidal thoughts. Whereas actor Shailesh Lodha, famous for playing the character of Taarak Mehta, left the show in April 2022. The actor was a part of the show since the beginning, but with time his relationship with Asit Modi also turned sour.
Shailesh Lodha revealed
Shailesh had accused Asit of inappropriate behavior towards him, citing an incident during a stand-up show called ‘Good Night India’ in 2022. Shailesh filed a suit against Asit for non-payment of dues and sought intervention of the National Company Law Tribunal (NCLT) after the makers of the show failed to resolve the issue.
Doctor Hathi passes away
Actor Kavi Kumar Azad, famous for the role of Doctor Hathi, died of a heart attack in July 2018. Azad was associated with this show for nine years. Before his demise, he was admitted to Wockhardt Hospital in Mira Road area of Mumbai due to health complications. The story does not end here. Actress Jennifer Mistry Bansiwal, famous for the role of Roshan, had made serious allegations against the show’s producer Asit Modi.
Asit Modi accused of sexual harassment
Jennifer accused Asit Modi of sexual harassment and said that the atmosphere of the show promotes male dominance, due to which she had to withdraw from it. She then filed a complaint against Asit Modi, the show’s project head Sohail Ramani and executive producer Jatin Bajaj for alleged sexual harassment. He was reportedly booked under sections 354 and 509 of the Indian Penal Code.
