Game of Thrones actor Ian Gelder passes away, lost his life while battling cancer

British actor Ian Gelder, who gained popularity with the role of Kevan Lannister in ‘Game of Thrones’, has passed away. He was suffering from bile duct cancer for the last five months. He breathed his last at the age of 74. Ian Gelder’s partner Ben Daniels confirmed his death through an Instagram post on Tuesday (May 7). “It is with great sadness and a heavy heart that I announce the passing of Ian Gelder,” Daniels wrote, reports Variety.com.

“Ian was diagnosed with bile duct cancer in December and passed away on Monday (May 6). I had stopped everything to look after him but none of us had any idea that he would pass away so soon. Will leave.” The actor played the younger brother of Lord Tywin Lannister, played by Charles Dance, in 12 episodes of the series. He also worked in many TV series including ‘Doctor Who’, ‘Snatch’, ‘Fifteen-Love’, ‘Casualty’, ‘Edward the King’, ‘I Thought You’re Gone’ and ‘His Dark Materials’ among many others.
