Mr and Mrs Mahi box office collection day 1: Rajkummar Rao and Janhvi Kapoor’s romantic drama performed well on the first day of its release. According to Sacnilk.com, the film grossed ₹7 crore in India on Friday (May 31). According to the report, Mr and Mrs Mahi got a total Hindi occupancy of 56.15 percent. The film is receiving mixed reviews. That being said, Janhvi looks pretty average in the film. If anything, it is her scenes with Rajkummar that elevate her performance. The two had a fresh chemistry as a couple. Soon after their marriage and after a fun first night, the spark of romance ignites between them but it vanishes very quickly. Honestly, that’s exactly what you would be interested in about this film.
Mr and Mrs Mahi is worth a watch for its honest acting but the film lacks a great script or wow moments. It is an ambitious sports film that tries to make a point. But sadly, it misses the shot. Directed by Sharan Sharma, the film is the second collaboration between Janhvi and Rajkummar Rao. It is also the second collaboration between Janhvi and Sharan.
Janhvi and Rajkumar were earlier seen in Roohi. The flashback scene in the trailer shows that Rajkumar’s character’s dream of being selected in the national team is shattered and he is struggling to recover from it. When he learns that she (wife) can play cricket, he decides to coach her. The film is also backed by Karan Johar’s Dharma Productions.
