South cinema’s lady superstar Nayanthara, who made headlines with the film Jawan last year, has been in the news for some time now for the film ‘Annapurni: The Goddess of Food’. His film was released in theaters in October last year. The film ‘Annapurni’ has been in a lot of controversies since its release. Recently this film was released on OTT platform Netflix. Some leaders have called Nayanthara’s film anti-Hindu. After the protests against the film, the film ‘Annapurni’ has now been removed from Netflix.

In fact, former Shiv Sena leader Ramesh Solanki criticized the film ‘Annapurni’ by calling it anti-Hindu, after which an FIR was registered against the producers and Nayanthara. A few days ago, Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP) leader Shriraj Nair had also condemned the film ‘Annapurni’ for its derogatory comments on Lord Ram. He warned the film’s banner Zee Studios and demanded immediate removal of the film from Netflix. In response, Zee Studios apologized to VHP and removed ‘Annapurni’ from Netflix.

Nayanthara’s fans are quite surprised by this decision of the makers. Let us tell you that this film was released on Netflix on 29 December. ‘Annapurni: The Goddess of Food’ is the 75th film of Nayanthara’s career. The film has been directed by Nilesh Krishna. Apart from Nayanthara, Jai, Satyaraj, KS Ravikumar, Radin Kingsley, Kumari Satchu, Karthik Kumar and Suresh Chakraborty were seen in the film. The music in the film is by Thaman. ‘Annapurni’ was released in theaters on October 1 last year. However, the film did not get good response at the box office.
