Veteran actress Rakhi Gulzar has finally returned to the Bengali film industry after a gap of 20 years with Shiboprasad Mukherjee’s ‘Amar Boss’. The shooting began in Sector 5, Kolkata and scenes were shot at various locations in the city. Kolkata’s Victoria Memorial has been packed and busy since Wednesday, January 17. Rakhi Gulzar is finally making a comeback in the world of entertainment. It was announced that the veteran actor will be returning in Shiboprasad Mukherjee’s upcoming film ‘Amar Boss’.

Shooting started on January 5 in Sector 5. For the last few days, Nandita Roy and Shiboprasad Mukherjee have been shooting scenes with Rakhi at various places in Kolkata. The location on Wednesday was Victoria Memorial Square, where a scene of eating phuchka (pani puri) was being shot. Rakhi Gulzar, famous for lighting up the silver screen for decades, is making a comeback in Bengali films after a gap of two decades. Her last theatrical release in Bengal was Rituparno Ghosh’s ‘Shubho Mahurat’ (2003). He was also seen in Gautam Halder’s ‘Nirban’, which took many film festivals by storm in 2019. It has now been almost two decades since fans have seen Rakhi on the big screen in a Bengali film.

Nandita Roy expressed her excitement about working with Rakhi Gulzar, saying, “I respect Rakhi di a lot and wanted to work with her for a long time. Amar Boss was conceived keeping her in mind. “We are very happy to have the opportunity to work with him”. Nandita Roy and Shiboprasad Mukherjee’s previous film ‘Raktabeej’, which released during Durga Puja 2023, was a huge success at the box office.
