Gurucharan Singh alias Sodhi of the popular TV show Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah has gone missing. Initial investigation by Delhi Police in this case has revealed that he was going to get married soon and was facing financial crisis. According to sources, Delhi Police reached this information after initial investigation. It was also found that Gurucharan withdrew ₹7,000 from an ATM in Delhi. On April 24, his last location was found in Palam, a few kilometers away from his home. Since then his phone is switched off.
According to the report, officials said, “His flight was at 8.30 pm on Monday but he was seen at a traffic intersection in Palam at around 9.14 pm.” In the last CCTV footage of the actor, he was seen crossing the road carrying a bag. Gurucharan’s father said in his complaint that he left for Mumbai from Delhi by flight on April 22 but did not reach Mumbai. The police are also monitoring the CCTV footage around his house to find out which route he took to reach the airport.
Fans and well-wishers of popular TV actor Gurcharan Singh, known for his role of Sodhi in the series Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah, are worried about his mysterious disappearance for the last few days. Gurucharan, who had gone to meet his parents in Delhi, was believed to be returning to Mumbai but there has been no trace of him since April 22.
The actor’s father is very upset and has lodged a complaint with Delhi Police. In this, information has been given about his son’s sudden disappearance after going to Mumbai. South West Delhi DCP Rohit Meena had told ANI, “Gurucharan’s family had lodged a complaint that he was missing since April 22. He was supposed to go to Mumbai but he did not go. We have registered a case under section 365 of the IPC.” We have formed a team to investigate the matter and our technical team is also in the process of viewing the CCTV footage where he himself is seen walking.
Despite several attempts, 50-year-old Gurucharan neither reached Mumbai, where he works, nor returned home. His phone is unreachable, which has increased his family’s worries. Assuring an immediate investigation, a Delhi Police official said, “We are looking into the matter and have started the investigation after receiving the complaint.”
Saying that his son was not in a state of mental distress, Gurucharan’s father said that he could not explain the incident of his disappearance. Gurucharan, who became famous in every household with his comedy act in Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah, had said goodbye to the show a few years ago.
