Adani Group’s port company ‘Adani Ports and Special Economic Zone’ is going to be included in the benchmark index BSE Sensex of Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE). At the same time, IT company Wipro will be out of the list of top 30 companies of Sensex. This change will be effective from 24th June next month. BSE gave information about this today i.e. on 24th May. In the recent past, Adani Ports’ stock has seen a steady rise and in the last one year it has given a return of more than 95%. At the same time, Wipro’s stock has given a return of 17% during this period. Adani Ports is the first company of Adani Group to be included in Sensex. Adani Ports is the first company among the companies of Adani Group to be included in the Sensex. Both Adani Enterprises and Adani Ports are included in the Nifty 50 of the National Stock Exchange (NSE). Sensex tracks the top 30 companies of the country Sensex is the benchmark index of the Bombay Stock Exchange, which tracks the top 30 companies of the country. Sensex is calculated on the basis of free-float capitalization. Sensex shares keep changing from time to time. For this, a review is done every six months and then a decision is taken on that basis. Adani Ports is the largest port operator in the country Adani Ports is India’s largest private port operator and end-to-end logistics provider. Its 13 ports and terminals represent about 24% of the country’s port capacity. Its capacity is 580 MMTPA. Earlier it was named Gujarat Adani Port Limited (GAPL). The company has set a target of keeping cargo volume between 460 to 480 metric tonnes in FY 2025. This is 23% more than the previous financial year. For FY 2024, the company had set a target of 390 metric tonnes. The company’s Mundra port transported 180 million metric tonnes (MMT) of cargo in the last financial year. The company has also increased its target to 180 MMT for the current financial year.
