Why MBBS Students Prefer Government Medical Colleges: When it comes to choosing a medical college after passing the NEET UG exam, it has been seen that most of the students prefer to choose government colleges. Not only this, such colleges are more preferred which are years old, well established and where the annual fees are also very low. This conclusion has been reached according to the TOI report which has included data from the National Medical Commission.

These colleges were not included

About 1 lakh MBBS students have been included in this data. However, 20 AIIMS and JIPMER which together have a total of 2269 seats and other colleges which have 420 seats have not been included in it.

These cities are the first choice

The name of Delhi is coming at the top in this list. Most of the students take admission in government medical colleges here. If AIIMS data is removed, Maulana Azad Medical College is at the top in this list. After this comes Vardhaman Medical College which is attached to Safdarjung Hospital in Delhi.

The name of this city comes at second place

The median rank of government medical colleges of Delhi is 4597. After this comes the name of Kerala. The annual fees of government colleges here is around 20 to 30 thousand rupees. Besides this, there is no bonded service. The median rank of government colleges here is highest – 12592. Not only this, the median rank of private medical colleges in Kerala is also high, around 96,600. Whereas the average annual fee here is around Rs 7 lakh.

What is the condition of private colleges

CMC Vellore’s median rank is highest among private colleges – 18832. After this comes the name Maharaja Agrasen Medical College of Haryana. Its median rank is 20531. The third name in this list is MGIMS – It is from Wardha whose rank is 23598 and which gets funds from Central and State Government.
