But have you heard that Hollywood will also make a remake of a South film? Yes, Bollywood has already made a superhit remake of the South’s blockbuster film. Now Hollywood is also seen preparing. This movie is none other than superstar Mohanlal’s film Drishyam. After several remakes in Indian languages and a Chinese adaptation, Jeethu Joseph’s Drishyam is all set to take over Hollywood. The 2013 Malayalam film, which starred Mohanlal, Meena, Ansiba Hassan and Esther Anil in the lead roles, will now get a Hollywood remake.

When the Malayalam film was released in 2013, it was a massive success. After this, the film was made in Kannada and Telugu in 2014. It was remade in Tamil as Papanasam and in Hindi as Drishyam in 2015 with Kamal Haasan and Ajay Devgan. It was then remade in Sinhala as Dharmayudhaya with Jackson Anthony in 2017 and in Mandarin Chinese as Sheep Without a Shepherd with Xiao Yang in 2019. Work is already underway on Indonesian and Korean remakes.
It is noteworthy that Drishyam 2 was released in the year 2021, which was highly appreciated. The 2013 sequel was also made in Telugu, Kannada and Hindi.
