FMCG company ITC, which makes everything from cigarettes to soaps, reported a 4% year-on-year (YoY) profit to Rs 5120.55 crore in the fourth quarter (January-March) of FY24. The company’s consolidated net profit was Rs 5,335.23 crore in the same quarter a year ago. The company has announced a final dividend of Rs 7.50 paise per share for FY24. Companies give a part of their profits to their shareholders, which is called dividend. ITC released its fourth quarter and annual results today, May 23. Income declined by 0.19% year-on-year ITC’s consolidated revenue from operations declined by 0.19% year-on-year. Revenue from operations in the fourth quarter of FY24 stood at Rs 19,446.49 crore. The revenue was ₹ 19,484.50 crore in the fourth quarter of FY23 i.e. the same quarter a year ago. The company’s profit increased by 6.60% in FY 2024 ITC’s consolidated profit increased by 6.60% to ₹ 20,458.78 crore for the entire financial year 2024. The profit in FY 2023 was ₹ 19,191.66 crore. 0.42% increase in revenue in FY 2024 ITC’s consolidated revenue increased to ₹ 76,840.49 crore in FY 2024. The revenue in FY 2023 was ₹ 76,518.21 crore. That is, there has been an increase of 0.42% in revenue. What is standalone and consolidated? The results of companies come in two parts – standalone and consolidated. In standalone, the financial performance of only one unit is shown. Whereas, in consolidated financial report, the report of the entire company is given. Here, ITC has 34 subsidiaries, 9 associates and 3 joint ventures. The combined financial reports of all of these will be called consolidated. At the same time, the separate results of ITC will be called standalone. ITC’s share gave only 1.55% return in one year After the result, today ITC’s share rose by 0.068% to close at ₹ 440.20. In the last one year, it has given only 1.55% return. In the last 6 months, the share has gone up by 0.55%. The market cap of the company is Rs 5.53 lakh crore.
