Delhi High Court has reprimanded Facebook’s parent company Meta. The court has said that the functioning of Meta is worse than that of the government department. On Tuesday (April 30), a bench of Acting CJ Manmohan and Justice Manmeet PS Arora heard the petition of TV Today Network Private Limited, in which the company said that its Instagram page Harper’s Bazaar India was blocked on the complaint of a third party. . Third parties allege that TV Today Network has infringed copyrights. Besides, TV Today Network has also challenged the constitutionality of Rule 3(1)(c) of the Information Technology 2021 in the court. The functioning of Meta is worse than that of a government department. During the hearing, the bench said that the functioning of Meta, the parent company of Facebook, WhatsApp and Instagram, is worse than that of a government department. Because it failed to respond appropriately to media group TV Today Network’s petition against its blocking. The meta has to be careful. Your system is not working. We will pass an order and reprimand you not to do this again. Please understand that if the system does not work the rules will be invalid. Our complaint did not get redressal: TV Today In court, TV Today’s lawyer showed an e-mail sent to Meta saying that we had written to Meta about our complaint. Also contacted the Grievance Redressal Officer, but we got the reply that the correct channel was not written. To this, Meta’s lawyer said that TV Today’s Instagram page was blocked after three copyright complaints. The e-mail shown by the company is not for rejecting the complaint. This was an auto generated reply. On this, the bench asked TV Today’s lawyer to file a complaint with Meta’s lawyer again through e-mail. After some time, the TV Today lawyer told the bench that our complaint has again been rejected. Meta cannot adopt an obstinate attitude. After this, the angry bench told Meta’s lawyer that you cannot adopt an obstinate attitude towards us. Follow what we are saying. You don’t understand what we are saying. We have been overly generous with you. We have given you enough time to organize your house. You may have billions of users, but your house is not organized. The bench has ordered Meta to consider the complaint of the media house. Also the right decision should be taken. Further hearing in the case will be held on Wednesday (May 1).
